Come Fly Away – Gala Dinner at the Hill-Stead Museum

This event is inspired by Theodate Pope Riddle’s extensive travels and collection of souvenir postcards. The evening will feature a French-inspired multi-course dinner and wine pairings by Chef Taylor Naples of DORO Restaurant Group’s West Hartford establishment Àvert, as well as live and silent auctions. Special guest Stephen Lash, Chairman Emeritus of Christie’s Americas, and musical guest Vinny Raniolo and friends will play the finest Django Reinhardt and gypsy jazz. The esteemed auctioneer is Brook Hazelton, LiveAuctioneers Chairman and former Christie’s President for the Americas.
Taking place outdoors on Hill-Stead’s picturesque West Lawn, it will be al fresco dining at its finest—sans tents—where you can choose to sit at a safe distance among friends or with your guest at a stand-alone table. Bask in the glory of our outdoor masterpiece where you’ll feel as though you are in some exotic locale with the backdrop of rolling hills and a stunning sunset taking center stage.
In addition, fashion writer and vintage clothing collector, Erin Hazelton, will be transforming the sunroom into a lavish boudoir, offering an array of vintage (and some newer) pieces for purchase, all sales benefitting Hill-Stead.
Guests who purchase tickets at the Monet’s Circle level will enjoy a Champagne reception and a tethered balloon ride (weather permitting) taking in the stunning views of Hill-Stead’s landscape and the Farmington Valley and also be gratefully recognized in the event program. They may also enjoy an after-hours House Tour.
Guests will be safely socially distanced at tables spaced at least 6 feet apart and may indicate their seating preferences on their ticket order: table of 2, 4, 6, or 8 guests.
