The Fall Book and Bake Sale, the largest annual fundraiser for the Friends of the Library, returns once again to delight Shoreline readers of all ages. The sale stands out for its high standards, variety, and organization. Thousands of gently used books, chosen for interest and quality are offered at unbeatable, pre-inflation prices. Sales tables, organized by topic, are restocked throughout the sale with top-level books.
Fiction ranges from classics to best sellers. Non-fiction includes books on history, art, nature, sports, religion, cooking, health, and more. Among the vintage items are books and paper ephemera including maps and prints. For children, there are board books, chapter books, picture books, and classics. Teens can choose from a variety of young adult books, graphic novels, and Manga. Also on offer are puzzles, CDs, DVDs, and vinyl.
The Bake Sale (Saturday in the Lobby while supplies last) offers delicious home-baked treats. Friday and Saturday will feature live entertainment.
On Sunday everything is half price.
And don’t forget to bring your own bag to carry home your purchases!
All proceeds from the sale are used to support the Library—to buy books; sponsor programs for children, teens, and adults; purchase equipment, software, and hardware; provide museum passes, build a Library of Things for loan; and support staff development.
In addition to the yearlong volunteer efforts of the Friends, the sale is supported by a generous grant from the Guilford Savings Bank and the Guilford Foundation to help offset expenses.
The Library is located at 67 Park Street across from the Guilford Green. For more information, contact the Library at 203-453-8282 or click here.
