International prize-winning harpist Li Shan Tan will give a FREE concern on Sunday, May 4th from 3:00-4:00 p.m. at Saint Thomas More Chapel at Yale (268 Park Street, New Haven, CT). Registration/advance tickets are not required. Walk-ins are welcome!
About Li Shan:
Li Shan Tan won the VI Mexico International Harp Competition in 2022 and is about to head to Indiana to compete in the USA International Harp Competition. Her You Tube shenanigans of recreating video game sounds from “Among Us” on the Harp is currently at 2.19 million views.
Li Shan performed two sold-out shows as a soloist with Vista Philharmonic Orchestra in their 2022 opening concert and she was the 2022 Borromeo String Quartet Guest Artist. She has shared the stage with groups ranging from the Boston Symphony Orchestra to the Silk Road Ensemble to The Beach Boys.
Li Shan is a Singaporean harpist currently living in Boston, MA, who began her harp journey at age 13, and has since trained at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Royal College of Music and the Boston Conservatory at Berklee with Dr June Han, Ina Zdorovetchi and Huang Yu-Hsin. Li Shan is pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts at the New England Conservatory with Boston Symphony Orchestra’s harpist Jessica Zhou. Her love for the harp has spurred countless projects and performances internationally, and she loves to showcase our beautiful instrument in new, different and unexpected ways.
