There’s a lot going on at The Williams School in March, join us!
Free Basketball DRILLS & Learning & Leadership SKILLS Clinic for 4th-11th graders on March 5
Whether for fun or competition, Williams’ scholar-athletes learn the value of mind, body, and spirit through its athletic program. On Saturday, March 5th, all students in grades 4-11 are invited to join Williams’ Athletic Director Kevin Steuer, Boys Varsity Basketball Coach Miles Daniels, and members of the Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball Teams for a morning on the court and in the classroom. Dividing into two age appropropriate groups (4th-7th and 8th-11th grade) the program will include lessons in basketball, study skills, financial literacy, and leadership. Optional campus tours will be offered before and after each program. Participants must register in advance and we request that they bring one non-perishable food item to donate to a local shelter.
Annual Compchorea Performance to feature Student-Composed Music & Student-Choreographed Dance
Compchorea will take center stage at Williams’ Daren Performing Arts Center on March 3rd-5th. Guided by Williams’ Director of Dance Bo Parish and new Music Director Jeffrey Creuger, students are empowered to create their own works for this annual event in its 40th year of production. Students have composed music pieces from classical instrumental composition to upbeat rock-bands and choreographed dances in a variety of styles. Parish also auditions and selects dancers for three ensemble dances. The community coming together for this performance is a popular tradition and includes generations of alumni who will tune-in to watch the show online. While the School will only offer in-person tickets to current students and their families, we invite the public to watch the performance on the School’s YouTube Channel for a live premiere on Thursday March 3, 2022 at 7:00 PM.
The Williams School is an independent college prep day school for students in grades 6 – 12 on the campus of Connecticut College.
