I-Park, where art meets nature situated within a 450-acre preserve, offers an ever changing landscape. Artists from near and far have gathered for fully-funded residencies this season and some have left their mark with site-responsive art works out on the land. The public is invited to an OPEN Trails event Saturday October 14, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
At the welcome table, visitors will be given a trail map and are invited to explore the grounds in one of two ways. They can take a curated walk which takes about forty-five minutes or follow their sense of adventure with a trusty map to engage with the 40+artwork on the land. Guests can also experience the new in-progress Pollinator Garden which is buzzing with bees, birds and butterflies and the recently reopened Boardwalk Trail.
Visitors are welcome to bring a picnic and unplug in this natural haven. The event is family-friendly for children of all ages. We’ll have a scavenger hunt for all the kiddos with prizes. Due to the fragility of the artworks and the natural features at I-Park, pets are not permitted on the I-Park grounds. Outdoor enthusiasts of all ages are welcome, however reservations in advance are RECOMMENDED, though visitors can sign up at the Welcome Table. A suggested $10 donation for adults is welcome and would be helpful in the ongoing maintenance of our trails and gardens.
