I-Park is pleased to welcome the public and kick-off the summer with its Open Trails: Tuesday in the Park event, on Tuesday, June 22nd from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Visitors will be given a trail map and a Birds of I-Park brochure and are invited to explore the grounds, including the 40+ existing environmental art installations. You will get to experience the brand new 20th Anniversary Commission artworks by Marvin Touré and Sui Park.
You’re welcome to bring a picnic lunch, pull up a patch of grass, and enjoy a relaxing screen-free, fresh-air experience. For those interested in bird-watching, try to arrive at 9 am and don’t forget your binoculars. The event is family-friendly for children of all ages. Due to the fragility of the artwork and the natural features at I-Park, pets are not permitted on the I-Park grounds.
Outdoor enthusiasts of all ages are welcome, however, reservations in advance are REQUIRED. For additional information, write to events@i-park.org or call 860-306-0636.
In accordance with the State of Connecticut Reopening Guidelines, all Trail Walks will practice social distancing procedures during check-in and throughout the event to ensure participants’ safety. Face masks will not be required while hiking on the trails. I-Park is dedicated to everyone’s personal health and is eager to welcome the public for a relaxing day of walking and hiking!
Important: You will be agreeing to the Visitor Code of Conduct and Photo Release when you register for Open Trails.
