Filson was founded in 1897 and hasn’t changed their methods much since. They don’t need to; they got it right the first time. Based on pure rugged quality, C.C. Filson started production during the western gold rush to provide basic gear to keep prospectors alive in challenging conditions. Today, Filson continues to use the same materials – wool, waxed cotton and rugged leather – and the products are made right here in America. At Block Design Build, we’re most fond of the Filson bags and luggage. Crafted of extremely durable canvas with bridal leather straps, they are capable of lifting hundreds of pounds. And the older they get, the better they look. We use their canvas briefcase on the job site daily and my carry-on luggage has made its way to the mountains of Italy and Patagonia and still looks surprisingly fresh and new.
