There’s now even more to love at Bishop’s Orchards in Guilford. The Little Red Barn (adjacent to Bishop’s Farm Market) is in full swing Wednesdays through Sundays, and the wine (frose!), barbecue, ice cream, and fun is flowing! Sailcloth tents festooned with twinkly lights, wooden picnic tables, and Adirondack chairs line the property. But that’s not all. There are outdoor movies, trivia nights, and live music happening all summer long (and beyond). The night we popped by, gaggles of friends and families were piling in, ordering pizza from Naples Food Truck, Bishop’s own barbecue from the shed, and heading out to watch a family-friendly movie on the mammoth screen on the vast lawn beyond the tents. And, of course, candy and popcorn are for sale in the barn.

Bishop’s BBQ Shed serves up a variety of slow-cooked meats, including brisket, pulled pork, and smoked chicken and lots of sides (cornbread muffins, brisket beans, macaroni salad). We went for the scrumptious Korean BBQ Pork Bao Buns with Kimchi, doused with a sweet soy chili sauce and a side of slaw. There’s something for everyone, from hot dogs and burgers to charcuterie boxes to enjoy with Bishop’s Vineyard wines. A selection of Connecticut craft beer and hard cider is available, too.

Wine-tasting takes place in the barn on the weekends.
