Four Mile River Farm Delivers Locally Raised Meats to Your Door
Great news for local carnivores! Four Mile River Farm now delivers all their pasture-raised cuts straight to your door. Long famous for their beef and lamb, they’ve recently added free-range chicken to their offerings. These animals are my neighbors, nibbling the fields at Ashlawn Farm in Lyme, so I know up close and personally how well-tended they are. When a few long huts popped up in the field, I couldn’t figure it out. These “prairie schooners” provide happy grazing for the chubby chickens, which are so much better than any you’ll find at the grocery. New, too, are specialty cuts like shaved and cube steak, which you can file under super-simple weeknight meals. Fans of their ultra-comfort-food cheeseburger pie can add it to their order, along with bone broth and bratwurst and even treats for your pup.
When I’m hankering for a hamburger, the shop at Four Mile River Farm is my go-to, and now I don’t even need to leave my house. I keep a stack in the freezer, and you should, too. If you prefer a more indulgent patty, give the brisket burger a try. Peruse the new and beautiful website (with spectacular photography by Winter Caplanson) and place your order.
