We’re gearing up for our last Girls’ Night of the season! Meet us at The Marketplace at Guilford Food Center on Wednesday, December 7th between 5 and 6:30pm for 1/2 price wine and to pick up your sticker to qualify for discounts. Then head out to shop the boutiques around The Green.  If you’re staying in town for dinner, don’t forget to make reservations. Ballou’s is offering 1/2 price wine with an entree. Call 203-453-0319.

I raced around Guilford last week to give you a sneak peek of what’s in store. Bring your lists, because you can easily tick everyone off in this stellar shopping town. From cookbooks at Breakwater to cookie cutters at Page’s, this town has something for everyone. Here you go:

We suggest starting your evening at the corner of Whitfield and Broad with a collection of don’t-miss shops.

Onyx has just set up shop in the Quonset hut on the corner (next to Perk on Church) after a move from Madison, and the new store is stunning. You’ll find European fashion and accessories in an easy to browse format plus lots of accessories for gifting. We loved the stacks of cashmere one size fits everybody ponchos. A perfect throw-on at $149 in a profusion of pretty shades.

Next door (walk right through), is the home of BSK and Creek Chic Designs. These two women artist/entrepreneurs have stocked the shop with clever Christmas offerings. Chroma (BSK) specializes in Dichroic glass and you’ll find everything from light fixtures to platters and holiday ornaments in colorful combinations, while Creek Chic’s elemental belts and jewelry feature river rock and sterling silver.  This is a shop to savor.

Ella is known as the wardrober of the Shoreline, women flock here to get dressed head to toe by Carol, and here’s why…

On the hunt for a party dress? Tracy Brent is your answer. Just a few doors down from Ella, you’ll find a sophisticated collection of fancy schmancy and sophisticated separates.

Eve’s Apparel: this atelier (across and downstairs from Ella) is full of easy-to-wear sweaters, leggings, oversized tops and accessories.

Give Big Love: We have YET to leave Mix empty-handed, and you surely know by now that this is one of our favorite destinations for modern gifts. Among the goodies for guys, gals and everyone in between, you’ll find these BIG Love Balls, something we’re all after this season. Available in a large size at $70 or a smaller six pack at $45, a portion of proceeds go to The Trevor Project, Rare Disease Foundation and Paws for Hope.  Spread a little love this season.

Hot Stuff: The perfect stocking stuffer destination for the foodies in your life, The Tea & Spice Exchange has shelves positively groaning with exotics, but we’re particularly impressed with the pepper selection, from habanero and chipotle to bird’s eye and Aleppo, if you’re after the hot stuff you’ll find it here. Oh, and truffle salt. Never forget truffle salt. EVERYBODY loves truffle salt.

Cookie Swap: Bakers rejoice at Page’s for their selection of cookie cutters, mixers and more…and if you’re planning your holiday cookie swap, head here for supplies at 20% off!

Lulus:  Our go-to for the best bra and pj selection on the Shoreline (and those crazy COZY Barefoot Dreams robes) Lulu’s has just added Ann Lightfoot Jewelry to her line-up. Find the holiday collection in store on Girls’ Night Out.

Inspo at Details: This gift and tabletop destination is always over-the-top during the holidays and they’re ready for us this year. I stopped in to ogle the decor and take a few notes on how to set the holiday table.

COZY at Swish: If all you want to do for the season is wrap yourself up in cozy clothes, you’ll find plenty at Swish. We’re big fans of the brands here, our favorite Chan Lu cashmere scarves to Velvet tees, CP Shades tunics and White & Warren cashmeres; this nook is a winter wear dream.
