Institute of Contemporary Art

The reimagination of the Boston Waterfront and previously dreary Fort Point Channel area is remarkable. Shops, restaurants, and condos are popping up everywhere, even in this pitiful economy. The ICA is at the center of the action (with the new Louis set to open next door). Designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, the harbor views are as riveting as the art. It’s a calming and contemplative place. After you yank yourself away from Roni Horn’s engrossing exhibition, skip the cafe at the museum and head down the street to Flour Cafe and Bakery for lunch and the famous sticky bun that won Throw Down with Bobby Flay (here’s the recipe).
