We are so happy to see that Madison Wine Shop has reopened after its disastrous fire. Now on Wall Street, it’s bigger and better than ever. I stopped in just in time for a tasting of Onyx Moonshine, a Connecticut distillery, and their new cranberry flavored variety. One word? Strong. But delicious and would make for a welcome Father’s Day gift. If that’s not the ticket, any dad would appreciate the mix and match six-packs of local and craft brews in a Madison Wine Shop monogrammed tote (unlike most liquor stores, this one is all about the packaging!). Me, I’ll go with owner, Whitney’s favorite cocktail: Uncle Val’s Botanical Gin and Fever Tree Indian Tonic Water, an artisanal version of the favorite summer classic. Now stocking Fromage cheeses and adorable portable wine coolers by local manufacturer, East Wharf Bags.  Stop in on Thursdays for beer tastings, Fridays for wine tastings, and cocktail sampling on Sunday afternoons.
