New Year’s Eve Celebrations!

I like to ring in the New Year with a big pot of something delicious (click here for my favorite make-ahead beef stew) that will feed friends and their families. We pretend it’s midnight around 9pm and everyone heads home. This year, however, my daughter is old enough to have her own plans (?!?) and we may just venture forth into the night.

Saybrook Point Inn and Fresh Salt Restaurant: Overnight accomodations, dinner for two and brunch on New Year’s Day (and 2pm checkout) starting at $549 OR Rockin’ New Year’s Eve Gala with live music, dinner, dancing and open bar. New Year’s Eve Gala can be purchased separately (without an overnight) for $129.

At The Bee and Thistle Inn in Old Lyme: It’s an annual treat to see The Bee all dolled up for the holidays and enjoy a five course dinner and music by the String of Pearls Orchestra at The Toast and Jam on New Year’s. Either $95 or $150 depending on seating time.

Drool over Chef Tyler Anderson’s over-the-top New Year’s menu ($139) and make reservations for a weekend at the Copper Beech in Ivortyton (including 2 night’s stay, Friday night dinner at Pipp’s, New Year’s Gala with live music, Champagne waiting in your room and gourmet breakfast each day, starting at $549 per person).

The Study Hotel and Heirloom in New Haven: Chef Carey Savona’s inspired farm-fresh menu with holiday additions. Seatings at 6 and 9pm. Late seating includes live music by Brown Baby Girl.
