Tucked into the space that houses River Valley Acupuncture (in the Witch Hazel complex in Centerbrook), Sapphire Aesthetics offers a number of holistic treatments for the skin that go well beyond typical facials. We opted for the The Quantum Facial | $145/90 minutes. Owner and seasoned Aesthetician, Stephanie Farrand, welcomes her clients to the cozy treatment table with chocolates and an inspirational quote on the pillow. Once supine, she’ll address any ailments or areas of the body that need attention and intention. What follows is a series of feathery brushstrokes over the face, neck and decollete to get the relaxation underway. Next, a tuning fork ritual to help balance your nervous system followed by a fruit enzyme treatment with warm steam. Stephanie meticulously moved through the fascia in my face neck and chest opening up “detox passageways” and continued on to a personalized facial reflexology session. This 90-minute experience was a meditation throughout and I left feeling brighter and softer (and ready for bed).
