Finally, it’s here: Spring on the Shoreline!  Events are ramping up so grab your calendars and add a few of these!

New Haven Restaurant Week 2023 continues until April 21st. See the list of restaurants here.

The Dudley Farm Guilford Farmers’ Market every Saturday in April and May, 9:30 – 12:30. The Market provides the opportunity to purchase local and organic seasonal produce and handmade arts and crafts while enjoying the beauty and serenity of the Farm as it was in the year 1900.

The Legend of Georgia McBride, by Matthew Lopez Ivoryton Playhouse, Thursday, April 6th – Sunday, April 30th. A big-hearted, music-filled comedy ~ Casey is an Elvis impersonator with everything going for him, including a flashy sequin jumpsuit. But just like that, he loses his gig, rent is overdue, and his wife announces a baby is on the way.  This wildly entertaining story will challenge your assumptions with extraordinary humor and depth.

Thames River Heritage Park Lecture- Earth and Sky: Finding Inspiration Through Nature Friendship,  Wednesday, April 19th, 6 – 8:30pm. The Lyman Allyn presents Judy Benson and Roxanne Steed both author and illustrator of “Earth and Sky: Finding Inspiration Through Nature Friendship.” as part of the Thames River Heritage Park’s winter lecture series. 

Dr. David Shiffman: Why Sharks Matter – A Deep Dive with the World’s Most Misunderstood Predator at Mystic Seaport Museum Thursday, April 20th, 7 – 8:30pm or Friday, April 21st, 1:30 – 3pm. Let’s venture into shark infested waters with award-winning marine conservation biologist Dr. David Shiffman to learn more about the world of sharks and their importance to the planet.

Earth Day Celebration Event in Chester, Saturday, April 22nd, 10-2pm.”Come show the planet some love!”. Head to Chester Village for the First Earth Day Celebration event featuring family-fun activities, an exhibit from Chester Elementary students, climate-friendly information, sustainable gardening, food, music and so much more! The event is free. (*There is no rain date for this event.)

Earth Day Beach and Park Clean Up at Hammonasset, Saturday, April 22nd, 10 – 12pm. All volunteers are welcome! Keeping the beach clean and free of debris not only improves the appearance for everyone’s enjoyment but is vitally essential for the health of birds and aquatic animals. 

Taste of New Haven Latin America Tapas Tour Saturday, April 22nd, 2pm. Latin American-themed culinary tour around Downtown New Haven sampling small plates of food from a variety of nationalities. 

Art Film at The Kate: Vermeer: The Greatest Exhibition Saturday, April 22nd, 1 – 2:30pm. presented by The Kate & Florence Griswold Museum. 

Earth Day Cruise With Brian Hess on RiverQuest, Saturday, April 22nd, 2 – 4pm. A special 90-minute cruise in celebration of Earth Day; Brian Hess, a wildlife biologist with the DEEP Wildlife Division, will be aboard. 

Catch the remaining Winter Music Series at Stonington Vineyards, April 22nd &  29th,  from 1 – 4pm. Please note the Annual Winter Music Series events are strictly 21+! Music is complimentary and outside food is welcome.

Day Out with Thomas 2023 Colors Tour! The Essex Steam Train, April 22, 23, 29 & 30th. 9 – 3:45pm Thomas the Tank Engine, his buddy Percy, and Sir Topham Hatt are pulling into Essex Station for “The Colors Tour”! Come take a ride and enjoy access to unlimited carnival rides, music & magic show, and Thomas the Tank Engine play areas!

Spring Bird Walk at McCulloch Property in Old Lyme, Saturday, April 29th from 9 – 11am.  Register for a bird walk at the McCulloch Family Property.  The town of Old Lyme purchased this historic farm for Open Space.

Vista’s Starlight Benefit 2023, Saturday, April 29th, 6 – 10pm. Their annual Starlight Benefit spring fundraiser and social event beams up at Water’s Edge Resort and Spa in Westbrook with the theme: Your Galaxy Awaits.
