Summer Bucket List


There’s so much fun to have on the Shoreline in summer, that it’s good to have a bucket list. Here’s mine:

The Circus Comes to Town! Canvas Sky, A brand new show from Hideaway Circus at the Essex Steam Train, June 28th – June 30th. Classical circus with a contemporary storyline, underscored by original music.

Adult Camp at The Flo Gris Museum: Saturdays, June 8th, July 13th and August 10th, 10 – 4pm Adult campers engage in multimedia creative projects designed to foster creativity and nurture artistic skills.

Salsa Lessons at Salsa Wave: I loved learning Bachata with Marina at Salsa Wave and you can, too. Salsa and Bachata classes in Deep River and Madison. No partner required!

Take Your Practice to the Sand: Beach Yoga at Harvey’s Beach, Old Saybrook. Various dates and times:

Early Summer Wine Dinner at Weekend Kitchen, Essex, June 29th: Chef Jennifer Magrey cooks an amazing Mediterranean meets Middle Eastern Surf and Turf dinner and wine expert Tiffany Nevers will pair wines to each course.

Summer Nights at Stone Acres Farm Stonington, 6/19 – 8/31 Wednesday – Friday and some Saturdays. Enjoy a multi-course local and seasonal menu from the Mystic-based team behind the award winning restaurants Oyster Club, The Port of Call, Engine Room and Haring’s Noank, including a boutique beverage selection of fabulous wines, local beers and spring cocktails.  

Wine Classes & Tastings at Sip in Old Saybrook, from rose to great whites and beach and boat picks, expand your palate, various dates this summer:

Farm Fest at White Gate Farm, last Saturday of the month beginning June 29th, 3 – 7pm. This popular free gathering returns with fresh from the wood-fired oven pizzas, live music, sushi and more! BYOB is welcome. The farm stand stays open until 7 pm.

Field House Farm in Madison hosts Chef David Borselle, June 14th, Feast on a 4 to 5 course dinner with wine pairings and desserts by Hen & Heifer,

Raven Wellness Cruises offers guided Sunset Meditation Cruises on Tuesday evenings, leaving from the Stony Creek dock. Charters available, too.

Yogapalooza, Mystic, June 20th, 12 – 7pm. Yoga Classes including Yin, Vinyasa, Kids Yoga and more. Vegan food, like-minded vendors, kirtans, gong baths, mediation and henna at this annual festival.
