The Freshest at Fish, Niantic
Who takes fish more seriously than a fisherman? Ummm, no one. That’s why you’ll only find the freshest local catch at Fish in Niantic. Owner Bryan Hunt’s tagline is Know the Source, and he’s on hand filleting and prepping beautiful slabs in iced displays. The day I visited, the choices were Rhode Island Swordfish, Black Sea Bass, Summer Flounder, and hard shell lobsters, plus a variety of local oysters and littlenecks on the oyster bar (serve yourself). Shoreline fish fanatics have discovered this spot, and a steady stream of happy customers filed in for chunks of swordfish, filleted sea bass, Faroe Island Salmon (his only non-local offering), and Niantic oysters.
