I holed up in the brand new Jade Hotel in Greenwich Village, which happily is only a few blocks from my favorite cafe, Haven’s Kitchen. The staff was ridiculously accommodating: walking us to a spot around the corner when we realized the restaurant wasn’t open (yet), carrying my bag to my car down the block because there’s no valet parking (yet), delivering a pot of coffee to my room in the morning (free) and the place is a steal: I paid $180 through Quikbook. The art deco inspired rooms are chic but I could barely get the chair out from the desk. I needed some room to spread out and get some work done for Night Two, so I checked for availability on HotelTonight, a genius app for last minute discounts.
