White Gate Farm

A brand new state-of-the-art kitchen at one of the most bucolic farms on the Shoreline? Welcome to White Gate’s cooking classes. My good friend, Ellen M., checked it out for me and here’s what she had to say:
“I had the pleasure of taking a class on a picture perfect afternoon with Anne Gallagher. The subject: cocktail treats. We congregated in farmer Pauline Lord’s stunning kitchen to get our assignment. First we trekked to one of her breathtaking fields to collect the ingredients: carrots, lettuce, cilantro, peppers & onions to create our goodies. We mastered maple ginger chicken, black bean tartlets, eggplant meatballs, marinara sauce and pizza dough (prepared on the grill  on the patio). Scrumptious watermelon margaritas (from White Gate Farm watermelons, no less) were our reward once ALL the slicing, dicing & chopping were completed. Annie has a rule that the knife work is completed before the drinking begins. The participants had a blast; what’s better than delicious drinks, terrific hors d’oeuvres, a wonderful instructor and a fantastic setting? Classes here are a must.”
