Woodworking Classes at Nautical Arts Workshop

I never understood why girls had to take home ec and those lucky boys got to go to woodworking class back in my elementary school days. The dopey checked maxi skirt that took an entire spring to make didn’t fit me by summer. I would have much rather learned how to construct something useful! Well, those of us who are woefully short on woodworking skills can sign up for all manner of classes with The Nautical Arts Workshop in Deep River. Peter McKenna, a master woodworker, has a workshop all set up to teach beginners to more advanced students how to craft all sorts of practical things from Adirondack chairs and Nantucket baskets to Bentwood boxes and Sheraton side tables. Classes run from half-days to weekends, and some span an entire week (the fancy table!). A dream come true for those of us nervous about wielding a hammer or a perfect gift for Father’s Day. Learn more about the upcoming classes on Peter’s website:
