A Chocoholic’s Dream: ATY Bar & Bon Bons, Mystic

If you’ve had dinner in Mystic, save room for dessert at Adam Young’s new spot, ATY Bar & Bon Bons! He and his talented team (and a collab with Grey Goose) are probably the only ones who could pull off this sweet and slightly kooky concept. But what could possibly be more fun than chocolatey drinks, his premium and gorgeous chocolates, and a menu of over-the-top desserts? 

We went for all of it (Laura’s birthday being the perfect excuse!). Start with the dark chocolate Martini, a surprisingly not-too-sweet, grown-up milkshake of housemade chocolate Ganache, grey goose vodka, and sea salt, with a white chocolate disc floating on top. I love a Pavlova (pretending it’s a light dessert), and this was an airy confection sprinkled with chocolate shavings. Not so light was the ginormous S’mores marshmallow on a bed of graham crackers and dipped in milk chocolate (perfect for a share). We took home a box of chocolates and most of the marshmallow because, as usual, our eyes are bigger than our stomachs! 

You can stop in for a box of chocolates or any of the desserts to-go, plus a list of takeaway spirits, including some premixed cocktails. Find it next door to Sift at 3 Water Street.
