Course provider:

Walter Lourie is the sustainability manager for the global brand mafi natural wood based in Austria. Walter started as a home builder in Alaska in the 1990’s and eventually moved home to Vermont and started a national wood flooring service company with notable projects as the National Gallery of Art in DC and a hall of fame football player in Boston and several projects in 30 states. Since joining mafi in 2013 we have worked together to develop sensible language and an alternative approach to residential and commercial environments by promoting our relationship with nature through our daily material connections. Since we live mostly indoors, we might consider being conscientious about the materials we chose to live and work with. A unique approach in the current market of cheap and easy, it has opened the eyes of senior staff at hundreds of architects offices worldwide.
