If you’re the treasure hunting type, Georgetti’s has your name on it. This was one of the first shops in the Village (42 years ago!), and they like to say they’ve got something for everyone. Well…they’re right. I’ve drifted in and out before for baby gifts and silver frames, but this visit, I peered closely at everything (and there’s a lot). Sure, you’ll find collectibles like Wee Forest Folk, beer steins, and Lladro, but there’s plenty more that falls into the “unique and unusual” category.

Georgetti’s  focus on Connecticut, New England, and international jewelry designers is a big draw. I loved the botanicals from Michael Michaud; his nature-inspired dainty and intricate necklaces, bracelets, and earrings in bronze and silver with pearls and semi-precious stones are well-represented. An extensive selection of on-trend Uno de 50’s chunky silver-plated collection of bracelets and rings drew me in, and, as always, I’m a huge fan of Simon Pearce. You’ll find the entire line of hand-blown glass here. The pewter salt and pepper shakers from Vagabond House (pheasants and foxes and bears…oh my!) are fabulous! Handbags are not ignored, with a wall of shelving laden with Spartina’s well-crafted linen and leather goods. I know you’ll have as much fun poking around this old school gift shop as I did, and you won’t come away empty-handed. Can’t make it in? There’s a robust online shop, too.
