Westbrook Lobster’s Happy Hour is extra-happy—it runs from 4 to 7pm Monday through Saturday, from noon to 7 on Sundays, and in terms of getting the most bang for your buck, this could be one of the best happy hours around, especially for seafood lovers.

Westbrook’s Clinton location has a big barroom, a down-home atmosphere, and a few TVs for catching the game. My friend and I ordered Thimble Island and New England Brewing beers from an impressive local and craft list; onion rings, clam chowder, and sliders from the kitchen; and oysters and clams from the raw bar.

The crispy, fine-battered onion rings were a steal—we got a huge plate for two dollars. Blue Points were two dollars a pop and the Rhode Island clams were $1.50; both were ultra-fresh and disappeared from our icy plates in seconds. If you’re going for sliders, the extra five dollars are totally worth the oyster and buffalo shrimp editions, and Westbrook’s clam chowder? Classic New England.
