Owner John Brescio brought city-style dining to Old Saybrook when Liv’s opened. A few months ago he brought happy hour, too, and it’s here to stay. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (closed Tuesdays) from 4 to 6pm, sit at the signature zinc bar for $3.50 draft beers, $5 glasses of wine, $4-5 small plates, and oysters of the day for $1 each.  Favorites include mini tuna tartar tacos with chipotle aioli, lime, and scallions; Philly cheesesteak sliders; and fried calamari with lemon caper aioli. Nibble, drink, and be entertained by the raw bar prep station.
