Moon Shots Organic Juice: Brick & Mortar in Guilford
Fans of the Moon Shots truck (that’s me!) will be thrilled to find their new brick-and-mortar outpost in Guilford. The menu has expanded well past the cold-pressed organic juices they’re famous for, and I stopped in for a healthy breakfast the other day.
Chowing down on a bowl of Chia Bliss is akin to a sundae for breakfast but oh-so-much better for you. Packed with antioxidants, protein, magnesium, fiber, and vitamins, this is a blend of chia, pitaya, berries, bananas, a sprinkle of granola, plus a mango drizzle and glazed pecans. Yes, I could eat this Every. Single. Day.
Gluten abstainers will love the gluten-free waffles. I chose the “Very Berry,” sprinkled with strawberries, blueberries, raspberry and elderberry cashew almond butter, and a splash of maple syrup (enough for two!). The avocado toast on fresh sourdough with a hint of garlic oil and sea salt is a winning combo, too. You can swap out for gluten-free bread if that’s your thing. They’re happy to blend any combo of smoothies you can dream up, and grab your caffeine fix at the Giv (sustainable) coffee bar.
It’s January, so there’s still time for a Moon Shots cleanse. I’ve done it before, and it’s a great way to jumpstart a dive into healthy eating by boosting immunity and crushing cravings. Choose from 24-hour (five juices and their delish housemade almond milk), 3-day, or 5-day.
I joined the bunch of customers tapping away at laptops while enjoying the decor of vintage furniture and moss walls (imported from Brooklyn, of course). This spot would be a daily non-indulgence for me if it was a tiny bit closer.
