Savour Cafe & Bakery & The Bombe

This French-accented cafe is well known for its bakery, and locals flock here for a bit of Parisian charm at breakfast and lunch. But I was planning a party and had heard about an over-the-top dessert they had on their Easter menu. So I ordered up the Kahlua Mocha Chocolate Mousse Bombe. When I returned to pick up my cake, I had no problem finding it in the case. The WOW factor: a garden party of colorful buttercream flowers atop four alternating layers of Kahlua mocha mascarpone mousse and chocolate mousse on a base of intense chocolate cake, enrobed in ganache.  Pastry chef and decorating wizard, Eva Jensen, uses a dozen different piping tips and precise mixing of six colors of buttercream (and some fairy dust!) to finish it off.

All I can say is my friends’ taste buds were transported to the City Of Lights after just one sweet bite. Owner Kim Thomas has successfully brought a bit of La Vie en Rose to the Shoreline.
