Smyth Hotel
My daughter and I like to check out new hotels and I always go through Quikbook for the best deals at boutique properties. We lucked out with the Smyth, part of the fancy Thompson group, for the ridiculous price of $109 per night. The rooms are a cool mix of modern and men’s club, with plenty of elbow room and chic marble baths. The subway is right outside the door, ready to whisk you to points north. Have a short stack and turkey bacon for breakfast at The Soda Shop across the street. One of my favorite haunts, Odeon (you haven’t lived until you’ve had an Odeon ice cream sundae) is on the next block. Try Tribeca.
