Summer at Surfridge Brewing Company

We’ve enjoyed Surfridge Brewing Company’s wood-fired dishes and lively atmosphere since they opened last Winter and we knew they’d deliver something special for summer. We recently spent a lazy Sunday afternoon on their spacious patio in Centerbrook and sampled their fresh, seasonal menu. First, the cocktails! The electric blue Patio Blues just might be our new summer drink. It’s made from coconut milk, lemon, Blue Curacao, and gin and it’s as tasty as it is pretty. We also gave the refreshing (and photo-worthy) I’ll Tiki Your Torch a try. This beauty is made with guava puree, rum, pineapple, and lime and tastes vibrant and tropical. We went with their fresh take on a watermelon salad made with Thai chilis, black sesame seeds, salty feta, and a ginger dressing and happily noshed on Ceviche and shrimp cocktail, too. We never pass up oysters in any form and finished our meal with a round of broiled (topped with garlic, butter, parsley, and bacon) and 6 on the half shell. This is the place to be this summer with or without a gaggle of friends. And it’s worth the wait for a table.
