This happens to me every year. I think I’ll have endless time for lazy lobster roll lunches, lollygagging in the pool, casual dinners on the deck, and begging excursions from my friends with boats. Plus the zillion fun events that pack the summer calendar on the Shoreline! And then all of a sudden it’s August! So I’m in full swing. I hadn’t been to a Farm Dinner in years, so I got a group together on Sunday for a gorgeous night at White Gate Farm (after nine years, the folks at River Tavern have this DOWN). We also managed to get up to our favorite spot, Matunuck Oyster Bar, for all things shellfish. My husband easily downed three dozen Noanks and Matunucks and I slurped the sweetest steamers. You probably know that The Oyster Club is another favorite of mine…and we headed to their upstairs and outdoor Treehouse (a bit of Robinson Crusoe in Mystic) for fresh cocktails and lobster rolls. A happy and hip spot for classic New England updated fare. I made it to a concert at The Kate AND a show at Norma Terris. Hoping to see La Cage Au Folles at Goodspeed and Memphis at Ivoryton Playhouse this month.
