Summer Sips: A Recipe for Rosé Sangria and More at The Wine Thief, Madison

On the hunt for a summery orange wine, I stopped in at the Wine Thief in Madison. You can always find what you’re looking for at this specialty wine shop, and if you need advice (moi), they’ve got plenty of that, too. The very well-versed wine and spirits director helped me choose (notes of apple or peach? I took both.), and then we moved on to a lesson on the differences between natural, biodynamic, and organic wines. Next up, a few bottles of rosé, and Janine steered me to an exciting selection at great prices. Then I spied the four-bottle sack of VRAC, a French rosé, perfect for a summer soiree. Even better, Janine supplied me with a ridiculously delicious and super simple rosé sangria recipe.

Here you go:

Four parts VRAC Rosé
One part Giffard Pink Grapefruit liqueur (also available at Wine Thief)
Thinly sliced cucumbers (with skin)
Optional: top with club soda or sparkling wine
