SUPERTOPIA: Wee Faerie Superheroes’ Headquarters & Hideaways

We jumped at the chance for a sneak peek at our annual favorite, Wee Faerie Village last week. This year’s teensy wonderland,  dotting the grounds of the Florence Griswold Museum, is so cleverly themed Supertopia: Wee Faerie Superheroes’ Headquarters and Hideaways. My seven-year-old and I marveled (no pun intended) equally at each intricate installation as we scoured the tiny abodes of known and unknown superheroes. Spectators both wee and otherwise will see deep inside the dens of such champions as Batman, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Buck Rogers, and many more. Don’t miss the Superstitch Faerie’s haven (where an entire tree trunk is encased in needlework!) or the City of Tomorrow (the former Metropolis, suspended in the trees) created by 4th Grade Students at Nathan Hale Art Magnet School in New London. As always, the entire exhibit is innovative, colorful and alive. We can’t wait to go back!
