Water Street Cafe
From buffalo wings to escargot pot pie, there’s something for every palate at Water Street Cafe. Fresh and local with an emphasis on seafood (we’re in Stonington, after all), it’s hard to choose from the appealing menu. To start, have a fresh peach Sangria and a dozen Stonington oysters (bargain-priced at $20). I can’t resist pasta with clams, but so many restaurants make an oily muck of this simple dish. Here, angel hair is tossed in a parsley-flecked white wine-butter sauce with a hint of heat, and studded with a dozen chubby little necks (and nicely priced at $14). Sublime.
