There can never be too many waterfront eateries on the Shoreline, and we are excited to welcome a new one! The folks behind Chow in Clinton have just opened Bacari Social in the old Boom spot at Pilot’s Point Marina in Westbrook. It’s a bit of head-scratcher to locate (just go as far as you possibly can through the Marina and voila!), but once there, you’ll find modern nautical decor, an expansive deck with water views, and a lively spot to enjoy cocktails, dinner and a raw bar. We visited on the soft opening night and chowed on toothsome housemade pasta with bright red sauce and fresh rose sangria. We can’t say much about the food yet as the menu is forthcoming, but we’re looking forward based on what we tasted. No matter anyway, just give me a water view, Long Island Sound sunset, ocean breezes, a plate of oysters, and a glass of rose, and I’m happy. Precisely what summer on the Shoreline is all about.
