Before the calamity of Covid, I’d head south before the holidays. This year, my daughter (who still works remotely) was able to hop a plane to Miami with me, so here we are, working from our cushy hotel room at The Carillon and enjoying a few days of sun. We barely leave the property (except for dinner), and we don’t care. Yes, I’ve got a wee bit of FOMO for having missed Art Basel by one day, but I no longer have that must-see-must-do everything on vacation. These days, I’m content with a change of scenery, and NOTHING beats having my daughter all to myself. It’s the perfect antidote to the anxiety that seems to always accompany the season.
