I was in NYC buying for next Fall (!!) last week so I sent my right-hand-gal, Laura Williams, out to see a slew of new(ish) biz in Deep River. While she was working off her breakfast (and beer!) at the cycling studio, I was perusing cashmere, houndstooth and tweed. I made time to see Moulin Rouge with my family (over-the-top and ridiculous fun!) and brunch at the newish and English-owned Whitby Hotel. This place is a happy feast for the eyes, from the art and wallpaper to the Waterford china and upholstery. Next time I’ll go for the glorious and authentic tea, tempting tiered trays of which kept whizzing by my table.
