Some guys are so easy. Lure them with  a plate of crispy fried oysters, beer and a view of sailboats bobbing on the harbor, and they’ll do practically anything you want. Even shop. So that’s how it went last weekend, on one of the very first spring-like days, and I was on a mission.  My perfect Sunday outing involved checking out the new inhabitants of the Velvet Mill in Stonington, a vast artist’s studio, but I knew a bribe was in order. It worked, and here’s what we found.

p.s. Many artists open their studios to the public on Saturday at the Velvet Mill, just outside the borough. Click here for directions. And those oysters? Head to the Dog Watch Cafe right over the bridge.
