I don’t know about you, but I’m ready to get back into the kitchen. After a summer of salads and barbecue, I can’t wait for some heartier fare. Sunday is my day to cook, chopping vegetables for soups or stews that will last us at least through the beginning of the week. These days, in our empty nest, it’s as likely that my husband will be apron-clad, which is a welcome change to the pressure of putting a meal on the table most nights. He, too, has discovered the stress-reducing benefits of chopping, and has developed a pleasing rotation of dishes. I’m always ready to try a new recipe, so we turned to Priscilla Martel, a local award-winning food writer, chef and teacher for some warming fall dishes to whip up. Here you go.
