Foodies (I know, we hate that word, but until something better comes along, it will have to suffice) will rejoice over the contents of the new larder at The Essex. Kimchi in many variations, salmon rilletes, spicy and not-so sweet Thai chili sauces crafted in the Essex Kitchen line the shelves. Baskets of immaculate and unusual produce from Long River Farm, Mexican soda, and the star of the show: sustainable farmed and eco-friendly fish including local line caught black Bass, Ora King Salmon (the world’s most sustainable fish), Spanish Bronzino, Pacific Ahi, Niantic Bay scallops and more. Carnivores will feast on a high end beef selection from Snake River Farms and RR Ranch, where all animals are responsibly and compassionately cared for, producing some of the best beef in the USA. Avoid the Witching Hour at Moxie
I don’t know about you, but Sunday afternoons feel like the witching hour. Here’s a fix: the bar menu at Moxie. Nosh on that ridiculous Buffalo Cauliflower or Fried Chicken Steam buns from 3 to 5pm.
Oysters Every Day!
Well, almost. Head to Liv’s Oyster Bar for buck a shuck and beer and wine specials from 4 to 5:30 Monday through Friday. Make reservations for a Taco Pop Up on 3/1.
Cocktails and Flowers!
Endless appetizers, cocktails and flower arranging with one of the best on the shoreline? Sounds VERY good to me. Mar Floral and Penny Lane Pub have teamed up for an evening of fun on March 5th.

The folks behind La Rosticerria have retired and closed up shop. They will so be missed, but you can still find their famous cupcakes at RJ Julia Cafe.
The authentic (and addictive) NY style bagels at Grateful Deli in Westbrook are made fresh in-house every day. Stop in for a shmear with lox (and a side of whitefish salad!) with the copy of the Times. So old school. Don’t miss the Mac and Cheese Bar for take-out dinner on your way home.
