Full Moon Yoga
I flung myself back into a regular yoga practice this summer and I’m so much the better for it! While I can’t say that my mind has stopped chattering (that’ll be the day!), I’m calmer and a whole lot stronger thanks to Marjorie Dorr of XO Yoga in Chester, Ava Tyler (she’s better than Xanax!) at Riverdog in Old Saybrook, and Ken Law (various locations on the Shoreline; find out about his Amazing Yoga Adventure in Mexico here!). Knowing first-hand the mind/body benefits of yoga, I was delighted to learn about Recovery Yoga, a non-profit dedicated to providing free classes to adults and teens in residential and rehabilitative facilities and for women recovering from substance or physical abuse. I hope you’ll join me on the beach for Full Moon Yoga and Meditation on September 11th at 6pm. Recovery Yoga has been awarded a $15,000 grant from The Forrest and Frances Lattner Foundation. Your tax-deductible donation will be matched dollar for dollar. Contribution for the event is $30 before and $35 day of. All levels welcome; with live music by Garrett Duffy of Barefoot Truth. Rain date Monday, 9/12. For more info and to buy tickets: www.recoveryyoga.com
