Wings, Chili, and Babysitting at The Stand’s Happy Hour
The Stand in Branford is famous for its casual dining featuring delectable barbecue and homemade sides served up on a metal tray. Happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. every day is just as delicious and a bargain to boot. And yaaaaas! They’ve got wings for $6. Settle in at the bar for $4 draft beers and $6 wines. You’ll also have your choice of a chili bowl over cornbread or mac and cheese, pulled pork sliders, or the brisket nachos that we tried served with coffee barbecue sauce and red pepper harissa dipping sauce. Pitmaster Justin Kingsley said next time we could pile on pulled pork and chicken, too, for Barnyard Nachos. So much fun! My friend Carly had to have the Fried Pickles with house-made ranch dipping sauce and salsa (ordered off the regular menu for $5). They’ve even got babysitting on Wednesday nights from 5 to 7 p.m.
