Most of us yearn all year long for summer on the Shoreline: lobster rolls, outdoor concerts, frolicking by the sea. But we still have the urge to get out of dodge and “away” on vacation. For me, a change of venue without the schlep of travel works just fine. I’ve been known to head to the Ocean House or Weekapaug Inn for a day or two of respite. It’s nice to cut out a travel day on either end, and while these rooms aren’t cheap, you save big on airfare! Here are a few other choice accommodations for nearby getaways.
