This cozy spot is a family affair: Katey’s sister, Laura Putnam of Laura Putnam Design in Santa Barbara, designed the space with the intention to create an environment that exudes understated elegance, ensuring the focus remains on her exquisite jewelry. The pale wood cases were built by her father, Wayne Walker, and Shoreline-inspired artworks by her mother, Lynn, lend the tiny space an airy seaside feel.

Katey’s collection, inspired by her life at the shore, is a range of stunning pieces, from delicate gold and diamond hoops to dangling earrings in soft pinks, blues, and greens. Semi-precious ropes of stones scream summer, and her handmade gold loop chains are instant heirlooms.

A new collection features gold clamshells inset with a tiny pearl, and I’ve always been a fan of her gem heart rings. Katey is also known for her talent in reviving pieces that have been tucked away in your jewelry box for years. Her atelier includes her workroom and bench, and you’ll find her there Wednesday through Friday, 10am to 3pm or by appointment.
