Mother’s Day is my absolute favorite holiday, so I ran around the Shoreline and put together a dream list of goodies available in our local shops.
My favorite candle now comes in a plug-in diffuser to scent every room in the house. Brilliant! Apotheke White Vetiver Pura Diffuser $80 at Homeward Collective.
These handmade clutches are fashioned from antique designer silk scarves, and each one is unique. Chanel, Gucci and Hermes, by Hamilton Road at Willow and Birch in Madison. $355.
Everyone needs a stack of these for summer! Lightweight but absorbent extra-large Turkish towels, perfect for beach days, as a sarong, or an easy travel or evening wrap. Great price, too. $32 at Mix in Guilford.
A simple, sweet (and delightful) Thank You is the best gift. Homesick candle $38.95. At Creations in Madison, a shop that gives back. Owned by Vista Life Innovations, purchases support the inclusion of people with disabilities in our communities. This shop is a GEM.
I love the idea of lounging around in these chic nightgowns (not my reality, but it could be!). A-line chemise at Lulu’s in Guilford for $149.
These just may be the sweetest sun hats I’ve seen! Maine designer Erin Fleet screenprints her own fabrics and stitches them up into hats and bags. See the entire collection at Rock Paper Sistas in Guilford. Hats: $62. Tote: 155.
Clothing gifts can be difficult because of sizing, but not these easy fitting tunics. Compass Rose in Deep River has a huge inventory of well-priced summery tops. Tunics range from $64 to $99, sun hats are $34.
A day at Sanno Spa at Saybrook Point includes various restorative treatments (facials, massage, manicure & pedi) and lunch at Fresh Salt. Packages start at $209 and include use of the pools, whirlpool, and jacuzzi.
I am impossible to buy for (just ask my friends and relatives!), but a Gift Certificate to RJ Julia (and an hour or two in a browsing a bookstore) is always a welcome gift.
