According to US News and World Report’s 2017 Best Places to Live NYC is #80, and New Haven is #81! Imagine that. It’s also rated as one of the fastest small cities for growth thanks to millennials deciding to stick around and, as national stats confirm, are flocking to cities. So, if crime, parking, and bridge traffic are keeping you from New Haven – snap out of it!

Here’s what you need to know:

  1. BRIDGE TRAFFIC TO NEW HAVEN

It doesn’t exist. Get over it. Experience your tax dollars at work. Besides ending the traffic drama, it’s a magnificent structure that has received national design awards. Enjoy the ride.

  1. CRIME IN NEW HAVEN

Unless you have been living under a rock, where you go, the time you go, and good old common sense is necessary in every city in the world.  As of October 2016 – here is the top 10 crime cities in America – and no, New Haven doesn’t make this list.

  1. PARKING IN NEW HAVEN

Like most cities, it’s a challenge, but the The E List has you covered with discounts at all the centrally located garages. Once parked, go native and walk or Uber wherever you want to go.  If you are feeling adventurous, hop the Shoreline East and forget the car altogether.

NOTE: Summer traffic is summer traffic. No way around it, well, actually there is; Check Google Maps before going anywhere and check alternative routes. New Haven is accessible from Route 1, 80, 91 and 95. No excuses.
