Noah’s Takes Over Carlson’s Landing in Essex

Carlson’s in Essex had a quick transformation to Noah’s, brought to you by the team behind Eli Cannon’s in Middletown, and we think this iteration is here to stay. The menu is well-priced and accessible, driven by classic American favorites like burgers, tacos, clam chowder, a bevy of salads (add your protein), a raw bar, and Eli’s famous chicken wings in buffalo or dry rub, that will keep this spot hopping all summer long. We made quick work of fried chicken tacos, Brussels sprouts tacos (vegan & GF), and a Lobster Cobb with a generous portion of our favorite crustacean. There’s lots going for this spot besides its designer dining room: the bar has arguably the best view of the CT River (and a slew of creative cocktails), and a row of high tops on the porch provides that very same vista. Reservations recommended.
