Shallows Kitchen & Bar, Westerly
Westerly has its share of excellent restaurants, and we’ve reviewed a few here over the years. When we arrived late in the evening (and slightly peckish) to the Margin Street Inn, innkeeper Sarah suggested a new spot that specializes in small plates, smack on the Pawcatuck River. It was just the thing. We sat at the bar overlooking the river and noshed on smoked fish paté served with crispy potato chips for dipping, and a local cheese board. The menu features plenty of intriguing small plates (pistachio hummus) and a wide variety of local craft beer.
