We’ve long been fans of Shore Soap Company’s liquid handsoaps, but until we stumbled on Main Street Soap Emporium in Mystic we had no idea how extensive their line of natural body care was. This sweet little storefront is stocked with everything you’ll ever need to be squeaky clean, plus delightful potions for face, body and hair, too.

Crafted in Rhode Island, the products have a distinctly New England vibe with names like Farmstand Fresh, Warm Sand, Salty Mariner and Surfer’s Sunrise. This trip I stocked up on brightly tinted, hand carved soap, and sticks of push up body butter (Mermaids Kisses!) concocted from natural and nutrient-packed ingredients. At eight bucks each it’s a handy thing for the gift closet for last minute host/hostess giving and stocking stuffing.

P.S.right next door is our latest favorite lunch counter-slash-butcher, Grass and Bone, so stop for lunch or pick up a rotisserie chicken or organic local meats to go.
