Is there anything better than a cappuccino, buttery croissant AND a handmade chocolate? The mother/daughter duo behind Sweet Em’s in Centerbrook think not (and I agree).  Their charming, pink-washed cafe is filled with all the things that make a coffee stop hard to resist: expertly made espresso drinks, flaky pastries, cupcakes, trendy dot cakes and cookies, plus what Emily Dale is best known for—her air-brushed handmade Callebaut Belgian chocolates with inventive, unexpected fillings.

You’ve possibly tried her treats before as she’s been filling the case at Pursuit of Pastry (and continues to), but the dream of their own space has come to fruition, and sweet it is! 

Stop in for a morning cappuccino and pastry, an afternoon chocolate fix, or simply because a pink cafe filled with handmade treats is exactly the kind of place we want to know about.

Good to know: Do NOT pass on the cold hot chocolate!  Custom iced cookies and more available for special order.
