You’ve got a full house but just can’t face myriad trips to the supermarket and days slaving over the stove. You don’t have to! Get your full-on feast from any of the following:

A la Carte Menus by Gourmet Galley  All your favorite dishes, homemade by the expert chefs at Gourmet Galley. Turkeys come from local farm favorite, Gozzi’s Turkey Farm and are brined, seasoned and cooked to perfection. Guanciale Brussels Sprouts, Whipped Turnip with Black Truffle and Autumn Spiced Pork Belly with Pomegranate Sauce are just a start to their inventive dishes. Available for pickup at the Florence Griswold Museum and several other locations.

Thanksgiving to-go is a 35-year tradition at Elizabeth’s Cafe. Whether you’re looking for take-out for two ($35 per individual dinner with all the fixings) or just the roasted bird, you’ll find it here, plus brown-buttered gravy, three kinds of stuffing, and all the traditional and not-so-traditional sides (Puree of Celery Root and Apple, Roasted Cauliflower au Gratin) plus classic pies and their famous XL sized cupcakes. Vegetarians in your party will happily tuck into Elizabeth’s famous Three Cheese Mac and Cheese.  Find the menu here:  perfectparties.com/thanksgiving

Meet a friend for lunch and shop for holiday edibles at The Marketplace at Guilford Food Center. This hybrid grocery-café-caterer is offering up four kinds of turkeys: free-range Willie Birds, Bell and Evans, Plainville or Gozzi’s. Gluten-avoiders will be happy to find gluten-free sausage and mushroom stuffing and gluten-free gravy here, and vegans can feast on Quinoa Stuffed Delicata Squash with Braised Kale and Roasted Root Vegetables. Classics like creamed onions and brussels sprouts with bacon are on their extensive Thanksgiving menu, too.  www.themarketplaceatgfc.com.

Count on tradition with a capital T at Walt’s in Old Saybrook. Something is done right at this shoreline institution where over 1,000 pounds of Walt’s housemade gravy is sold each year. Yup, you read that right. Available for pre-order every year are Waybest turkeys between 10-28 pounds.  Not inclined to roast a whole bird? Order any combination of parts or even complete dinners, with comforting sides you’d expect like Mashed Potatoes, Corn Bread Stuffing and Whole Cranberry Sauce, Butternut Squash with Marsala Wine or Butternut and Acorn Squash Medley with Maple Syrup and Brown Sugar. (860) 388-3308.

At Guilford’s La Rosticceria, you can order an all-natural turkey from Ekonk Hill in Moosup or, for smaller crowds, just the breast. This is also a good option for vegetarians, with Roasted Butternut Squash Ravioli and Vegetarian Lasagna on the take-out menu. Plenty of sides are available here, too (a gluten and dairy free Butternut Squash and Apple Bisque sounds delish) and consider ordering some of their famous cupcakes. This season they’re offering Pumpkin Ginger and Sweet Potato Maple.  Find the menu here:  www.guilfordtakeout.com.

If you’re on the hunt for basic individual dinners, they’re available at Cooking Company in Haddam and Killingworth – turkey, gravy, apple bread stuffing and cranberry sauce, but you can augment with classic sides like creamed onions and herbed green beans, cider roasted autumn veggies, and of course, a variety of potatoes. The Cooking Company is well known for their bakery, and they’re offering up everything from classic pumpkin, apple, and pecan pie to cranberry blueberry lattice and marbled pumpkin cheesecake in a gingersnap crust (yum!). Find their menu in store.  thecookingco.com.

Coffee’s Country Market in Old Lyme provides an enormous dinner for 10 – 12 at a set reasonable price of $285. You’ll be serving up an 18 lb. brined and herb-rubbed bird with homemade gravy, cranberry walnut chutney, butternut squash bisque, PLUS a choice of four sides and stuffing. A pumpkin pie AND mile-high apple pie accompanies the feast. Or skip the pre-Thanksgiving baking marathon and just order pie (we’re fans of theirs!): choose from pumpkin, ginger sweet potato, apple cranberry, pecan and more. www.coffeescountrymarket.com

Create your own feast at Mystic Market. Two options serve either 12 to 16 ($160) or 16 to 20 ($210) and include the basics: an oven-roasted Gozzi’s Turkey with Sage and Vegetable Stuffing, pan gravy, and buttermilk mashed potatoes. Next, choose your sides a la carte from a long menu of classics like green bean casserole to fresh tastes like smashed cauliflower with cream and parmesan. Oven-ready Gozzi’s turkeys are available here, too, plus plenty of pies and take-out turkey dinners for two. Orders must be placed by Monday, November 20th and pick up is Wednesday, November 22. Find the full menu here.

Make reservations for a family-style Prixe Fixe ($65 per person) on Thanksgiving Day or take out from The Essex. Freshly baked pies or a full feast to go! See the menu here.

This year, Dough on Main has a full menu available from appetizers to soups (Butternut Crab Bisque!) to scrumptious sides like Quinoa with Cranberries, Sweet Potatoes, and Pecans. Order by November 18.

Savour Cafe will cover your appetizers with Rosemary & Lemon Marinated Olives, Brie En Croute with Cranberry, Fig & Almonds. If your crowd is small (4-6), you may consider Turkey Roulade filled with pecan and cranberry studded stuffing served with an Apple Cider Sauce or Thanksgiving En Croute (Puff Pastry stuffed with Turkey, Stuffing, Cheddar Cheese & Cranberry Sauce).

Order crudite, an array of soups, sides, and pies from La Belle Aurore.

Simon’s Marketplace will handle everything but the turkey – with sides (Shaved Brussels Sprouts with Farro, Dried Cranberries, Scallions, Mint, Lime, Roasted Coriander), pies, appetizers, and don’t forget — Salt Baguettes! Check their FB page for updates or call (860) 526-8984.

Gozzis  in Guilford is famous for their Day-Glo dyed turkeys though some of us find the display at the farm a little disconcerting. Nevertheless, their prized broad-breasted Gozzi Whites have been a favorite on the Shoreline for generations.
Call 203.453.2771 to reserve your bird.

White Gate Farm is offering a heritage turkey this year called “White Holland” – a very old and now rare variety that originated in Mexico, and brought to Europe in the 1500’s, first documented in England in the early 1800’s, and accepted into the U.S. Standard of Perfection in 1874. Because of their wide breasts and short legs they were an important commercial bird in this country in the early part of the twentieth century. The White Hollands will dress out to 13 or 14 lbs. and cost $6/lb.

Bishop’s Orchards offers you two kinds available for pre-order; D’Artagnan Organic and Gozzi. Place your orders no later than Friday, November 17th at 7pm. Order it up oven ready with their signature sausage and bread crumb stuffing and a quart of house gravy or surprise your family with one of Cliff’s smoked turkey breasts and skip the cooking altogether. 88 Plains Road  Essex  (860) 767-1539

Walt’s has Waybest Turkeys this year, in addition to all of the yummy sides and gravy above.

Field House Farm  raises their Heritage Turkeys in a natural environment where they are encouraged to behave as they would in the wild. They are supplemented with a natural, no animal by-product grain, but their main diet consists of foraged items, bugs, grass, seeds, and nuts. They process the birds the week before Thanksgiving so that you are ensured a fresh, never been frozen turkey for your holiday table.
